This blogger will certainly be “holding onto” Autumn because Thanksgiving isn’t even here yet, people!! I don’t even consider it something I’m desperately clinging to, because, if you ask me, we should still be full-force Fall, here in the States 😉 Anyhow, last year, I shared 7 fall-themed quotes, and I wanted to do the same this year. Here are 5 Quotes on Autumn!!
Short & sweet quotes
Autumn came, with wind and gold.
Henry David Thoreau
I believe this is from Thoreau’s Walden, although I’m not entirely sure. It’s a simple quote, but it instantly paints such a beautiful image that one can’t help but be drawn in by.
Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.
Elizabeth Lawrence
I’ve never read this quote before, but once I did, I knew I’d need to include it in this post! Sitting outside, or going for a slow and easy walk, on an Autumn day does a world of good for one’s mental space—and I think it enriches one’s soul as well.
Heavily imagistic quotes <3
October
Raindrops on bedroom windows, the wind howling at night, dew in the grass, mist covered lands, fire in the hearth and hearts of lovers.
no idea who wrote this originally
The imagery and tone of this quote is magic!! To me, these gorgeous words are akin to L.M. Montgomery’s. I love the warmth and comfort this quote invokes.

And the sun took a step back, the leaves lulled themselves to sleep and Autumn was awakened.
Raquel Franco
This feeling always comes to California far later than it does everywhere else :’) So, I’m happy to report that although Autumn’s consistency is still elusive to the valley, Autumn has certainly been awakened here.
November
hands join over candlelit dinner — aromas of cinnamon dance playfully — apple crisp air — slivers of steam rise from warm cups of coffee and tea — streetlights glow warmly on sparkling cement sidewalks — spinning records softly crackle
op. vi — p.l.
Ah, Thanksgiving. A time for gratitude, spent with loved ones, where all the scents and ambiance of the day coalesce into an evening of comfort and joy. I adore the feelings portrayed here, and the memories it invokes.
That’s it!! Which of these 5 quotes on Autumn is your favourite?? I think mine is a solid tie between the “October” & “November” quotes (:
