Seeing as how I haven’t done an installment of “Things I Love” since June, I thought I’d round up my favourite moments from this lovely season. It’s been a while since I wrote a diary type post like this anyways, and I’m excited to share some of the snapshots I’ve taken over the past few months. So, here are my Autumn ’19 Highlights!
Do you remember? The 21st night of September…
My Autumn officially began when I decorated my room for Fall on the 21st. I had a lovely day from start to finish: I woke up early to exercise, got ready, went to Starbucks with my mama (had my first PSL of the season!!), wrote my first Autumnal blog post for this year, & came home to decorate and watch Auburn defeat A & M.
Later on in the month, I would spend a much-needed catch-up day with my friend Erika. We drove around town and talked for hours. We stopped at a used bookstore that I had never been to before and had homemade sandwiches for lunch. It was a wonderful day!

Other highlights included: spending time with friends at a little swim party at the very beginning of the month (California was still burning, mind you); watching Auburn remain undefeated for the first five weeks of the season; & taking the photos for my Autumnal Book List blog post. I am still ENAMOURED with how these came out; exhibit A is right here <<< :’)
Part one of my Autumn ’19 Highlights, done.
I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers…
I hung out with my friend Natalie; we went to Kuppa Joy, sipped our coffee (she had oatmeal lol), and actually came up with a story idea which was inspired by a chink we saw in the brick wall across from us.
My cousin Julie turned 16 this year (wild!!!!), so we celebrated with dinner and some ~very rich but still yummy~ Haagen Das. I started my very first buddy read with Audrey by delving into the Grishaverse. If you’ve read my latest, you know I am still a mess from this duology.
I went to a pumpkin patch with my friends, Sydney & Bri, and was able to check that item off of my bucket list! We had the BEST. TIME. The number of times we did something stupid and laughed til our sides hurt was probably too many to count. We may have been a little crazy from the Starbucks we doused before getting there :’)
Part two of my Autumn ’19 highlights, complete!
November–the month of crimson sunsets…
Prepare for quite a lot of photos…November is quite easily my favourite month of Autumn, and for good reason hehe.
Mount Hermon
My family and I took our annual trip to the Scott’s Valley mountains and stayed in the cabin I have the most memories in. (It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been able to book there. It’s been 20+ years of us going, so we have a relationship with the owner, and he usually reserves Veteran’s Day weekend for us!) This year, we went there on the first weekend of November, and though it was different from other years, we had a wonderful time. (Here are some pics from last year!!)
Day One was spent settling into the cabin after some delish Pizza My Heart. We stopped at Casa de Fruta on the way up, & I also finished Crooked Kingdom during the first half of the drive. I did weep, and I don’t care. The top bunk was a very welcome spot when it was time for bed.
Days Two and Three were very laidback. Took some hikes, lounged around the cabin reading, spent time together, and enjoyed good food and lots of laughter. There is never a shortage of any of these when we’re all together. I am so blessed to be a part of my family <3
I spent more time than ever in the cafe this year, and though these photos are a bit moody and dark, I hope you can get a feel for just how pretty it is!
Switchfoot Concert
I FINALLY GOT TO SEE MY FAVOURITE BAND LIVE!!!! FINALLY!!! This year actually marks my 10 years of loving them, so how fitting was this?!!? I’ve grown up with Switchfoot my whole, entire life; I can remember hearing their music as early as 4 or 5, but I have been in love with them since I was about 9/10.
My mom, sister, & I drove up to Stockton (thank God we weren’t shot lol) for this night full of JOY INVINCIBLE. (That’s a song reference because duh :’)) We listened to their music the whole 3-hour drive, and it was the BEST of times. I can’t even begin to describe just how WONDERFULLY AMAZING the concert was, so I won’t. Just know that I was in pure, total, unadulterated bliss for the four hours it lasted. (I got a beanie specific to the Fantastic Traveling Music Show, and I will not be taking it off at all this Winter season.
Turning 20

I turned 20 years old this month! Don’t mind me; I’m crying just a little because my teenage years have passed me by :’)
I can’t believe I’ve seen two decades in this world. Throughout my short time here, I have learned a lot of lessons & am striving every day to serve Jesus better and love others more.
My father has been so influential in my life, and the things he has instructed me in–by word of mouth and by his own actions–are what have given me the solid foundation I have today. I am so blessed to have parents who have given everything I could ever need to face this world.
I had a great birthday weekend celebrating with my family. It was very laidback and lowkey as that’s what I’ve been wanting the last couple of years, and I’m so grateful to my parents, siblings, tios and tias, cousins, and grandmothers for making this such a memorable birthday.
That is a wrap on my Autumn ’19 Highlights!! How has your Fall season been? I am really looking forward to ending this time with Thanksgiving on Thursday. Are y’all ready for CHRISTMAS TIME BABY?!?!?! Hehe. I have yet to plan my Blogmas content, but I’m excited to do so. Happy Thanksgiving!! I’ll see y’all on December 1st 😉
