Noel, Born is the King of Israel!
Joy to the world; the Lord is come!
Hark! The herald angels sing, glory to the newborn King!

It is Christmas morning, and my heart is full of joy invincible. There is a happiness that only comes from heaven, a light in the heart of man that can only come from the Divine. A King has come.
Jesus, the Son of God, a part of the Godhead, came down to earth in human form—all while maintaining His divinity—to redeem mankind and act as the sacrificial lamb. His arrival, life, death, and resurrection in the sinful world was demonstrative of His power and triumph over Sin and Death.
We made Jesus’ arrival necessary, for it is we who thwarted the work of His hands that He called “good,” the place He intended as a paradise for mankind. Earth was meant to be the place where creation and Creator existed in harmony: where man knew his God intimately and could walk with Him, speak with Him face to face, and behold His glory with his own eyes.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14 ESV
It was the sin of the first Adam that gave need for a second Adam. This Adam was perfect. He was the King of all creation; the sovereign Lord of all the earth; the only Person who could rectify the wrongs of mankind’s invasion in the world His Father made.
Christ Incarnate is perhaps the most comforting and exciting doctrine of Christianity. That Jesus, both man and God, not only saves us from ourselves, but He knows our every sorrow and trial. He too experienced temptation from Satan, He too was pushed to His limits, He too experienced pain and hurt. The prophet Isaiah says that He is a man acquainted with grief.
But He overcame.
“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, Who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted Him…”
Philippians 2:5-9 ESV
Jesus triumphed over the Enemy of our souls; He conquered death; He lived a wholly blameless life. Christ is our Peace.
“Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, Who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”
2 Corinthians 3:4-6 ESV
A King has come. And He put the world to rights. Jesus instituted a new Covenant, one that is far superior to the Old. In it, we have direct access to Him; we can enter His presence at anytime; we call Him Saviour, Lord, and Judge. Now, Christians are in a constant Second Advent, as we await the return of Jesus—the final chapter of His great story that will result in a new Heaven and a new Earth.
“Therefore He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.”
Hebrews 9:15 ESV
I hope that you know this great love. This joy that is unspeakable and full of glory. And if you do not yet know it, I pray that one day you do.
Today, I wish you hope, peace, and joy. I hope that no matter how you’re celebrating this year—despite the often bleak and difficult nature of this year—you find some solace on this special day.
