Oops, I did pick up a few more books, even if I might have spent too much on them in June :’) I got 2 classics & 2 auto/biographies; here’s my July Book Haul!
Nan’s Pre-Owned Books (2 Classics)
I absolutely had to go back to my two favourite bookshops in Grover Beach/Arroyo Grande when my family went for our annual trip to Pismo. (Can’t wait to share pictures from that in my upcoming Summer wrap-up!!)
My Dickens collection continues to grow with my purchase of David Copperfield, and I finally picked up Persuasion by Jane Austen. I don’t know when I’ll get to dive into either of these because now, I feel like I have so many books to choose from when it comes to the remainder of this year :’)
(also, i love that this copy of David Copperfield must have been in one of the UK territories at some point bc of the £ sign on the sticker on the front!!)
A to Z Books (1 Biography, 1 Autobiography)
Yet another Tolkien read was picked up, J.R.R. Tolkien: A Biography :’) I’m going to read this before I read the literary criticism on Tolkien’s works (which I picked up in June). Lots of people in the Unexpected Podcast facebook group said they really enjoyed this particular biography, and that makes me excited to delve into this!
I have been wanting to read The Hiding Place for years! I watched a film adaptation of this as a younger girl, and I was intrigued by Corrie ten Boom’s story. Also, I can recall reading about her in a magazine, and I always wanted to know more!! I can barely remember the movie, but it’s taken me wayyy too long to get the book. Very, very excited to read this.

That’s a wrap on this fairly quick, fairly short July Book Haul! Have you read any of these books before? I’d love to hear your thoughts if you have.
