Don’t even talk to me about 2019 being over; I’m not ready. I’m very blessed to have years that have gotten sweeter & sweeter as I have grown older. Thus far, my life has been filled with nothing but blessings, and very few, very minor hardships. But, there. I’m getting all sentimental, and I need to reserve that for my yearly roundup post :’) Let’s get to chatting about my 2019 Reading Digest!!
Goodreads Summary
We’re going to clear things up real quick. I actually read 60, S-I-X-T-Y, books this year. I have four of Jane Austen’s novels in a hardcover collection, and this year, I read Emma through that. Emma is the second to last book in the “anthology,” so when I finished marking my progress for that novel, Goodreads didn’t mark the book as read since I have yet to read Northanger Abbey, the last novel in the hardcover. (There are some 200ish pages left in the “book.”) Does that make sense? I tried to keep this explanation brief as it will need to be clarified before moving forward :’)
So, technically all my stats are off if I go strictly by Goodreads’ standards. I’ll be explicating my actual numbers throughout this post.
With that being said, my page number total ends up coming out to 21,472. Emma, in the collection it’s in, is 265 pages long.
As you can see, the most popular book I read was HP & the Sorceror’s Stone; whilst my least popular read was Hostage Run by Andrew Klavan. I’m thinking I might revisit The Mindwar Trilogy and write up a mini-review of them next year. It’s a fab YA sci-fi set of books.
An Angel’s Story is one of the novels I mentioned in one of my Blogmas posts this year: Max Lucado Christmas Reads. You can read a quick review there! Lord of the Rings will probably always be the longest book I read since I read it annually, without fail!
I don’t have to remind anyone about my newfound love of the Six of Crows duology since I raved about them (& mostly about my adoration of Matthias Helvar) in a long, rambly, emotional, gushing post which you can read here. (A bit more on this shortly.)
So, to reiterate, I read 60 books out of my original goal of 50. That puts me at 120%! I won’t go into my reading goals for 2020 since I’m writing up a separate post about that. Coming soon!

My Summary
2019 was wildly successful for me in terms of my goal to hit 50 books. 10 books over the mark is pretty good, eh? My unofficial goal of reading more non-fiction was also met, and I “enlarged my horizons” when I dipped into the world of hyped-up YA with Six of Crows. Leigh Bardugo, you blow me away. Let’s just say, I have plans to delve into more of her work in 2020.
Heck, I started writing about what I was reading!! I’ll chat about the blog changes I made in that wrapup I mentioned earlier 😉
Becoming a part of the book blogging community this year was lovely!! I’ll also mention all those kind people in that upcoming post.

Alright, I don’t want to bore you with all my bookish talk. I look back on my 2019 Reading Digest with a sigh of satisfaction. I read 60 books easily, and I’m so happy with that!
