The gorgeous Geraldine of Geraldine Talks tagged me to do the “Bet You Didn’t Know” tag; I’m basically going to share seven non-obvious facts about myself that you don’t know! I haven’t done a tag post since Christmas, so I’m excited to get into this one.

So, I bet you didn’t know…
- My favourite colour is grey. (And my favourite spelling of that word is just how it is there, with the letter e.) I fell in love with this colour when I was about 13 or 14; there’s just something so calming and subtly beautiful about this colour to me. I know some people think it’s depressing, but I can’t get enough of it :’)
- I’ve read through the entire Bible at least six times before. My dad taught me how to read when I turned four, and the Bible was the first book I started reading. I say at least six times because I kinda lost track a couple of years ago haha, and it could be more :’) As soon as I finish it, I start all over again. I’m currently doing a Chronological reading plan which basically means that I’m reading it in the order that Biblical events occurred rather than the standard canon order!
- I got my 12-year-old molars at age 11 :’) I am struggling to think of obscure things about myself if you can’t tell by that one, and that’s great because I’m only at #3.
- Psychology is absolutely fascinating to me, and I would 100% be studying that in school if I didn’t love history (& English) soooo much.
- I briefly considered going into the publishing industry when I was a senior in high school. I had plans to teach English, but I decided to give thought to other career options that English majors generally go for.
- This will probably be the deepest fact on this list: I almost choked and died when I was 9 years old, but my grandma was there to save my life! I’ll be forever grateful to her for that.
- I think college is a big, fat, scam. Its primary function today is to hand out useless credentials and is 100% NOT necessary to lead a successful life. It’s only
barelyworth it when you know exactly what you’re going to school for; you’re there to learn a valuable skill (that is applicable to your future career); and/or it’s the best/only path to take in order to pursue your goals. Luckily enough, I know what I’m in college for, and I do need a degree for my future career as a teacher. It’s definitely a privilege and something to be grateful for, and I don’t deny that it can be valuable, but other options need to be encouraged far more!
