As I promised myself back in June, I would need to document the absolute loveliness that was the early summer girls trip. We had always planned to continue what we hope will become an annual tradition, started in the previous summer (’22), and it became a more pertinent priority once we found out that the Mills’ were leaving by end of June. Since Maddie would be off to New Jersey for most of the summer, we made sure to take a day trip with her to Morro Bay, and then we planned an overnight Pismo trip for some final moments with Lauren.
We’re hoping we can always keep this tradition up, but even if for some reason we don’t get to fit that into the time that they’ll be back over this summer, we have other things already set in stone hehe. Anyway, on with the long-form photo dump of the early summer girls trip!!
Day 1:
Morning

We stopped first in SLO to mooch around Phoenix Books; I think I picked up Rebecca? Can’t really remember tbh :’) Did a lot of book-buying last year, and not enough reading of said books as mentioned in my reading digest. Should be reading that one this year in any case :’)

Went to Avila Valley Barn next and picked up an elote which was SO delicious, hadn’t had one in ages, and have been thinking about it ever since honestly.
Noon

Headed to the beach after this, but not before stopping for some drinkies right by the boardwalk at Kraken. Seriously will be forever in love with the matchas and cappuccinos here.
Evening

Got all dressed up and went for dinner at Rosa’s. Had the most DIVINE shrimp scampi and swapped out the usual pasta for angel hair. My old-fashioned tasted a bit like toothpaste but we move and I enjoyed it anyway tbf. Enjoyed the sunset and took more photos together afterward. Also can I just take a moment to say I felt SO PRETTY here and looking at these pictures now, in the dead of winter, makes me so excited for the return of summer. I always thrive and look my absolute best this time of year.
Day 2:
Morning

Had the most refreshing morning walk seaside and then went to Kraken once more. Also picked up the cutest matching bracelets and took one home to mail to Maddie.
Noon

We wrapped up this all-too-brief trip with some well-spent time at Nan’s (picked up three L.M. Mongtomery books, not Anne/Emily), a little bit of window shopping at the outlets, and then lunch at Old Village Grill before we headed home.
