IT’S CHRISTMAS WEEK!!! HooRAY!! Happy Christmas!!!! I am so late with this post!!!!! Would that I had had time to stay on top of blogging this month :’) I had so many festive ideas, but alas, executing them was another matter entirely. Essentially, this semester got the best of me. In any case, here are the books on my Christmas wishlist…if anyone I know sees this with enough time…but again, Christmas is in 5 days, so my hopes are not too high haha!!
However, as I always like to preface—Christmas is not about the receiving of gifts. It is a time to celebrate the Greatest Gift that mankind has ever received; the Gift that is freely offered to all—but I digress. I’m thinking of writing another special piece on Christmas this year, so that might be incoming. Better stop now :’)
Christmas Wishlist: Books
- Anything by C.S. Lewis — preferably, Surprised by Joy, The Space Trilogy, or The Weight of Glory.
- More Middle-Earth books to continue my collection and deepen my knowledge — The Fall of Gondolin, Beren and Luthien, or The Book of Lost Tales (Part 1)
- The Secret History by Donna Tartt — it’s time to get into a new genre!!
- The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro — I’ve been meaning to read this for two years.
- Homer’s The Odyssey or The Iliad — I probably won’t start these soon, but I’d like to have the pressure of them sitting on my shelves :’)
- The Reason for God by Timothy Keller — highly recommended by one of my role models
- Anything by John Piper — probably Desiring God would be a good place to start.
That’s it!! By my count, I only really listed 12 books here (if you only count the first book of The Space Trilogy). Of course, there are many books on my TBR, but I think I would get the most immediate and long-lasting satisfaction out of these :’)
